A NIGHT club which closed a decade ago will be brought back to life for one very special night.

Before Asylum Club Night, there was Caşi/ Club Wired and this Friday, the two come together for a very special reunion night.

The alternative venue on Mersey Streeet, which closed in 2013, was home for the alternative music scene with two floors playing an assortment of rock, metal and punk.

The council previously approved plans for the bar to be turned into 10 apartments in 2018, and work is currently under way to convert it into five one-bedroom flats and seven two-bedroom units.

However with the Mersey Street building fast becoming unrecognisable, for the last time, the monthly rock night, 'Asylum' will celebrate a rite of passage for many with an hour of classics from back in the day and photos on display tomorrow, Friday, August 25.

Tickets are available in advance which will include a saving on door price.

Lee Harman said: "I spent many a year in Caşi/ Club Wired, discovering a passionate and welcoming community of like-minded music fans.

"Nostalgia can certainly make you forget that it wasn't exactly the nicest of clubs and had its fair share of trouble over the years (open and closed), but for many it was home and should be remembered just like Mr Smiths and the Carlton Club was."

Since Asylum was relaunched in July in 2021 at Eden on Barbauld St (formerly FC2), they have brought some of the biggest nights to the town with special guests including DJ sets from the bands You Me At Six, Funeral For A Friend, as well as Sean Smith (The Blackout, Download Festival).

They have also held the town's first ever Emo Prom, and held Warrington's biggest afterparty for My Chemical Romance in 2022, taking over the sister venue, Friars Court.
